The men’s second team travelled to top of the table Shrewsbury, a team which won their opening 5 matches of the season, conceding only 2 goals.
AWHC started strongly with Nik Patel threading the ball through to Immy Hazel, who beat a defender before calmly slipping the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0.
The away side took their lead into half time, and started the second half in equally positive fashion.
Dave Foster’s short corner strike was blocked and the ball fell to Dom Boniface, whose measured finish made it 2-0.
Shrewsbury pulled one back as time ticked on, but AWHC survived late pressure to hang onto their lead thanks to some top class saves from keeper Aiden Hill.
The victory was just reward for a great team effort, defending as a unit and working for each other from start to finish to take home a well-earned 3 points.
